The backbone of the domestic network of the international logistics and transport company, Emons, underwent major expansion and modernisation last year. Emons already have 10 branches, including the central hub in Prague, as well as sites in both Brno and Pilsen.
All three new locations are connected primarily by the proximity of large agglomerations, which makes them suitable distribution centres for city logistics. They are also capable of servicing large-capacity sets, so-called giga-liners. The lease of new premises, which came with a number of specific requirements, took place under the direction of our industrial and logistics leasing team.
The branch in Nýřany near Pilsen has a total area of 2,600 sq m and nine ramps, which makes it possible to handle the growing volume of shipments in this region. There are also some central departments within the company located here. The now standard approach for Emons is access for the afore-mentioned giga-liners with a larger than usual transport capacity, and the Pilsen branch is no exception.

In this respect, the new warehouses in Mstětice near Prague and in Blučina near Brno had to meet these exacting standards. The choice was all the more complicated because the giga-liners have strict rules for traffic on roads and level crossings.
The Pilsen hub is also important for Emons because it is strategically located near the border with Germany, where the company's headquarters are located. In addition, Emons is a specialist in transport between the Czech Republic and Germany.
"Thanks to its strategic location and high number of ramps, the Emons branch in Pilsen is perfectly prepared as a regional distribution centre for e-commerce. It is also well-suited for the supply of the electrical and mechanical engineering industries, which are traditional industries in the Pilsen region." adds Dušan Drábek, Head of Industrial and Logistics Agency at BNP Paribas Real Estate.
