Within a few weeks, we managed to provide M.K. Invest Group, from Frýdek-Místek, with new warehouse space. This major importer and exporter in the food segment is expanding thanks to increased demand in the e-commerce sector.
As our reports show, Covid-19 ignited the growth of a number of companies connected to e-commerce. This has positively affected the demand for smaller distribution centres connected to larger cities. This can be applied to the lease of 3,500 m2 of new distribution space at Ostrava Airport Multimodal Park, in the Ostrava-Mošnov area, for the renowned M.K. Invest Group.

Starting in 2002, the company´s core business is the retail and wholesale of food products, and also investment in new startups. Since its establishment, it has built a strong position in the market of sweet and savoury pastries. M.K. Invest Group now supplies its products to 11 of the largest retail chains in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland. The development of the company was strengthened this year by the addition of the new food startup, Beru.to, and investment in the clothing brand, AF Aesthetic Fitness, which continues to build a very strong position on the EU market.
"MK Invest Group has been doing well for a long time. However, its expansion was directly related to strengthening its position in e-commerce, where the strategic location of Mošnov offered the perfect solution," said Markéta Vrbasová from the Industrial & Logistics Agency team. "With the effective co-operation of all those involved, the transaction was concluded in a short period during the coronavirus epidemic. We wish our client the continued growth in both market share and turnover."
The Ostrava Airport Multimodal Park complex in Mošnov is being developed by Concens Investments. It currently has the building permission for the construction of a warehouse with a height of 18.6 metres, and intends to build a total of 234,000 m2 of modern warehouse and production space. With its strategic location in Central Europe, it also has the possibility of connection to a railway siding and a new container terminal. Another advantage is the connection to Leoš Janáček Airport Ostrava, which is the third largest in the Czech Republic, with regular international traffic.
It is worth pointing out that warehouse real estate developers are very active in the Moravian-Silesian Region. 27% of the 478,300 m2 in current projects under construction are located here.
